Our Story

The County Wine Tours was started by three best friends-turned-business partners who want to share their love of wine and Prince Edward County with others looking to explore. We hope you love The County as much as we do!

Co-founders and Advisors

Erin Bury

Erin grew up visiting Sandbanks beach before The County was a wine destination. She considers herself an excellent wine taster, and has been on wine tours in Italy, Portugal, and South Africa. When she’s not drinking wine, Erin is the Managing Director at creative communications agency Eighty-Eight in Toronto. She’s been named one of Marketing Magazine’s 30 Under 30, writes a column for the Financial Post, and her claim to fame is being retweeted by Oprah – twice.

Genevive Savundranayagam

Genevive has been visiting The County for over 10 years and immediately fell in love with its charm and wine. She first discovered her love of wine while living on a vineyard in Italy, and has since sipped her way through California, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. When she’s not doing wine “research” around the world, Genevive works as a marketing communications professional in Toronto. In her past role at UNICEF Canada she led the organization to secure a Guinness World Record – and now her next goal is to secure the record for most wines tasted in PEC.

Sheba Zaidi

Sheba grew up in the Middle East, but has spent the last decade visiting The County. She is a lover of food and travel and has been on wine tours in Italy, Portugal and Peru and more locally in the Okanagan Valley and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Sheba is a communications consultant in Toronto and has previously interned at the United Nations in NYC. Fun fact: Sheba is followed by Barack Obama and Britney Spears on Twitter.

Tour Directors

BuryHenry Bury & Sharon Knight Bury

Born, raised and educated in Montreal and Toronto, Henry moved to Belleville in 1976 and enjoyed a 34-year career as reporter and photographer with the neighbouring daily newspaper. He met Sharon Knight in 2001 and married five years later. They currently reside a stone’s throw from Sandbanks Provincial Park. Henry is  eager to share his favourite parts of The County with visitors.

Sharon is a lifelong County resident. She has worked entirely in the automotive sales and service industry in The County until her retirement in 2013. She now spends her time wine tasting, golfing and getting a little retail therapy in. Having grown up in The County, Sharon is very knowledgeable about its history and charms.  She is proud to call The County her home and loves to share all it has to offer with others.
